Hi, my name is Lukas and I am the founder of the paint by numbers company Simple Painting. Before this, I was working as a data analyst in my home country. The job was well respected and well paid, my family was proud and happy for me — sadly, I was not. Can you relate? Even more concerning, I saw the same emptiness in the eyes of my freshly graduated students as well….

This really bothered me, because it didn’t make any sense. We live in a world full of opportunities. We are free to do whatever we want, to travel, to enjoy life, to feel fulfilled. So, I turned on my Sherlock Holmes brain and started investigating. I began observing people in their day-to-day lives—my colleagues, friends, even strangers on the street.

After some time, I noticed a very interesting and disturbing pattern. It looked like this:

1. A person focuses all their attention on work, study, or daily responsibilities
2. They finally get a free moment
3. And immediately get sucked into their phone, handing their time over to social media

The answer to our unhappiness isn’t obvious at first—but when you really think about it, it’s surprisingly simple:

We’re not spending enough time with ourselves.

I decided to test this theory. I started reading books, meditating, and doing one of my favorite hobbies of all time: paint by number kits.

Shockingly, it worked. I felt calm, centered, and most importantly—happy. That’s when I decided to share this hobby with others, and Simple Painting was born.

We’re a small business that started selling paint by numbers kits in early 2020. We actively promote a tech-free, quality me-time experience.

Our mission: Help people feel happiness & fulfillment in their lives.
